(1931-1994)-Gentle, fair and friendly, Johnny Roberts embodied the joyous spirit of disc golf. His lifelong custom of warmly embracing everyone he met earned him the affectionate title of the "Squeezer Geezer". Though he held several Grandmasters and Senior Grandmasters titles and records, Johnny always downplayed the importance of winning and instead focused on having fun. He preferred to competewith people, not against them. A teacher throughout his life, he taught us to enjoy the game and love others. Johnny Roberts literally hugged the world, and in doing so forever warmed the heart of disc golf.
